According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method and system for evaluating stock market investment risk based on structured analysis of audited financial statements. Financial indicators relating to profitability, liquidity, leverage, operational efficiency and cash-flow stability are extracted and normalised to a bounded computational scale. A plurality of risk components corresponding to the financial dimensions are computed and aggregated using a predetermined model to generate a composite investment-risk index for a publicly-listed company. The risk index is optionally classified into discrete risk categories for decision-support use. The invention is implemented on a computing platform adapted to process statutory financial data, thereby providing an objective, transparent and standardised risk-evaluation framework that reduces subjectivity associated with conventional investment-risk assessment approaches."
