MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104621 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'method for efficient and autonomous data collection and analytics.'

Inventor(s) include Lavish Kansal; Dr. Ankur Bahl; Mohit Prakram; and Dr. Sawinder Kaur Vermani.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for efficient and autonomous data collection and analytics, comprises of a method for performing local analysis of data collected by IoT methods using deep neural networks, autonomously determining further data acquisition based on local analysis results, and transmitting only the analysis results in real-time to reduce transmission costs and latency while deferring original data transmission, the system supports pruning of deep neural networks by removing redundant neurons or connections to minimize model size and transfer learning by fine-tuning pre-trained models with new data collected by the IoT methods, reinforcement learning techniques are utilized to optimize data acquisition strategies based on environmental feedback without human intervention, the local analysis includes detecting critical events or anomalies for use in civil infrastructure monitoring or emergency management, and dynamically adjusts data collection frequency, the system enables efficient, adaptive, and intelligent data handling in resource-constrained and latency-sensitive."
