MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517092962 A) filed by Schaeffler Technologies Ag & Co. Kg., Herzogenaurach, Germany, on Sept. 27, for 'method for determining rotation parameters of a rotation angle, and electric motor.'

Inventor(s) include Hodrus, Erhard; Eberle, Christian; and Rosch, Alexander.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method (16) for determining rotation parameters of at least one variable rotation angle (?) of a rotor (14) of an electric motor (10) that is rotatable with respect to a stator (12), said angle being dependent on a rotational speed (?), the method comprising the following steps: determining (20) a first phase voltage (?d) and a first phase current (id) each with respect to a d-direction, and a second phase voltage (uq) and a second phase current (iq) each with respect to a q-direction of the rotor-fixed dq-coordinate system; applying (22) a calculation algorithm (24) with an iterative calculation (27) of the rotational speed (?) as the calculated rotational speed (?i) and the rotational angle (y) as the calculated rotational angle (yi); outputting (28) the calculated rotational angle (yi) as the output calculated rotation angle (yr); and calculating (30) the rotational speed (?) as the output calculated rotational speed (?r) from the output calculated rotation angle (yr), without directly calculating the calculated rotational speed (?i). The invention also relates to an electric motor (10)."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 28, 2024, under International application No.PCT/DE2024/100160.
