MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072417 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 30, for 'method for detecting metal impurities in electrode active material.'

Inventor(s) include Cho, A Ra; and Kim, Sang Woo.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for detecting metal impurities in an electrode active material, the method comprising: a first step of mixing an electrode active material with a nitric acid aqueous solution to form a metal impurity extraction solution; a second step of selectively precipitating the metal impurities in the metal impurity extraction solution to obtain a precipitate; and a third step of measuring the amount of the metal impurities in the precipitate."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 19, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/001002.
