MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517064969 A) filed by Safran Aircraft Engines, Paris, on July 8, for 'method for checking the compliance of an abradable coating in an outer casing of an aircraft turbojet engine.'
Inventor(s) include Leblon, Baptiste; Philippe, Benjamin Bernard Lucien; Bajulaz, Mehdi; and El Bahri, Safouan.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an upstream three-dimensional template (14) and to a downstream three-dimensional template (15) intended to be used within an outer turbojet casing (3), the inner surface (2) whereof is equipped with an abradable coating layer (7), upstream fastening means (12) for an upstream acoustic attenuation shroud (10) and downstream fastening means (13) for a downstream acoustic attenuation panel (11). Each upstream/downstream three-dimensional template takes the form of at least one cylinder sector capable of being mounted on at least one of the respectively upstream/downstream fastening means, and has, on its inner face (24, 30), at its respective downstream/upstream ends (25, 31), an annular flange (26, 32) which has, on its respectively upstream or downstream face (28, 33), a visual reference zone (29) intended to be used to visually check the aerodynamic step height between each three-dimensional template and the abradable coating layer."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 05, 2024, under International application No.PCT/FR2024/050011.
