MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087782 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'method and system of detecting and displaying presence of a child passenger in a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method and system for detecting and displaying presence of child passenger in a vehicle. The method comprises receiving vehicle data from plurality of units of vehicle. The vehicle data comprises imaging data captured within vehicle, seat belt monitoring data, status of vehicle, current weather data and weight load data. The method comprises detecting presence of child in vehicle based on imaging data using pretrained detection model. The detection model is trained using a plurality of physical attributes associated with set of children data. Further, emotions and facial expressions of child detected is determined based on imaging data. Further, detection of child is validated based on weight load data. Thereafter, display information is determined upon validation, based on weather data, emotions, and facial expressions of child, using predefined technique. The display information is displayed on display unit of vehicle based on status of vehicle."
