MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441032532 A) filed by M. S. Ramaiah University Of Applied Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka, on April 24, 2024, for 'method and system of back to back optical inverter using micro ring resonator.'

Inventor(s) include Ugra Mohan Roy; and Divya Kiran.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Method and System of Back to Back Optical Inverter Using Micro Ring Resonator A Back to Back Optical Inverter comprising two single inverter formed using micro-ring resonator wherein when the light passes through the input waveguide and into the first MRR, an inverted signal is produced in the output when the input wavelength is suppressed or dropped if it satisfies the resonance. The back to back optical inverter wherein the "through" port of the first MRR is connected to the "input" port of the other one in order to implement the logic. In this way, back to back Inverter can be obtained at the "through" port of the second MRR. A Method of constructing a Back to Back Optical Inverter using Micro Ring Resonator (MRR) comprising; developing single inverter (201) operative as not gate and coupling another single inverter using micro-ring resonator."
