MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321086944 A) filed by Tata Consultancy Services Limited, Maharashtra, on Dec. 19, 2023, for 'method and system for validation of configuration constraints and production constraints for feature viability.'
Inventor(s) include Mitra, Shubhadip; Kulkarni, Devadatta; and Tew, Jeffrey.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Product planning aims to identify set of product variants along with their respective production volumes which requires considering multiple product configuration scenarios each involving a unique set of configuration constraints and production constraints. While generating the scenarios, feature variants of a product can become unviable due to inconsistency within the constraints set. However, many scenarios require that each feature variant remains viable for at least one product variant. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a framework for validation of the constraints set that allows each feature variant to be viable. This is achieved by sequential validation of a set of configuration constraints, a set of take rate constraints, and a set of availability constraints, that generates a constraints network to obtain a valid product configuration scenario. In addition, a method for updation of the set of configuration constraints, and the set of production constraints is also provided."
