MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517005600 A) filed by Zhengzhou Non-Ferrous Metals Research Institute Co. Ltd. Of Chalco, Henan, China, on Jan. 23, for 'method and system for purifying aluminum electrolysis waste lithium extraction solution.'
Inventor(s) include Chen, Kaibin; Du, Tingting; Wu, Haiwen; Liu, Jianjun; Li, Ruonan; Luo, Zhongsheng; Wang, Xun; Sun, Lizhen; Wu, Jianwei; and Jing, Quanhai.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method and system for purifying an aluminum electrolysis waste lithium extraction solution. The method comprises: adding to a lithium extraction solution an alkaline mixture until the pH of the lithium extraction solution reaches a first target pH, performing a first reaction in the lithium extraction solution, then filtering the lithium extraction solution to obtain a first filtrate, wherein the first target pH is between 11 and 11.5; and adding into the first filtrate a calcium removal agent and a catalyst until the pH of the first filtrate reaches a second target pH, performing a second reaction in the first filtrate, and filtering the first filtrate to obtain a purified solution, wherein the second target pH is between 11.5 and 12."
