According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method and system for providing hybrid inventory management in self-ordering kiosks. The method includes receiving, by a hybrid inventory management system, a customer input from a self-ordering kiosk, the customer input including a confirmation of one or more items selected on the self-ordering kiosk by a customer. A local availability of the items is determined, where the local availability of the items is associated with an available status. The items are reserved locally for a payment time interval, where the items being reserved is associated with a hold status. Moreover, the method includes performing one of marking the items as sold in response to a successful customer payment during the payment time interval; and releasing the items from the hold status to the available status in response to an unsuccessful customer payment."
