MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641037093 A) filed by Mcd Built Environment Research Laboratory Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, Karnataka, on March 26, for 'method and system for initiating and executing an automated building design process.'

Inventor(s) include Ashok A Sanadi; and Mahesh Basavanna.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computer-implemented system (108) for initiating and executing an automated building design process is disclosed. The system (108) is configured to initiate a building design process based on minimal user input, including a digital marking of a site boundary provided within a site dataset (102). A derivation module (208) determines site location parameters from the site boundary, and a retrieval module (210) acquires environmental context datasets including climate, solar radiation, wind, urban heat island, hydrology, slope, shadow, and surrounding geometry data. A transformation module (212) converts the retrieved datasets into simulation-ready environmental parameters through spatial mapping, temporal normalization, and boundary condition encoding. An orchestration engine (220) and representation module (214) generate candidate three-dimensional building representations subject to site-derived constraints. An execution module (216) computes environmental performance metrics and performs MEP design optimization and renewable energy sizing. The orchestration engine (220) produces ranked alternatives or a recommended building design."
