MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441034562 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on May 1, 2024, for 'method and system for improving boot process of a memory using enhanced dfe training technique.'
Inventor(s) include Abhinav Arora; Aayushi Chauhan; Afreen Shaik; and Gabriel Cho.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In the present disclosure, techniques for improving a boot process of a memory (122) using an enhanced Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) training technique are described. The method (200) comprises step (a) of predicting (202) DFE tap values based on memory configuration parameters. The method (200) further comprises step (b) of determining (204) accuracy level of predicted DFE tap values by comparing predicted DFE tap values with optimal DFE tap values. Furter, the method comprises step (c) of determining when accuracy level exceeds an accuracy threshold value, then setting a prediction flag as TRUE, storing predicted DFE tap values after validating a plurality of eye margins; and performing subsequent boot process of the memory using the predicted DFE tap values. The method further comprises step (c) of determining when accuracy level is below the accuracy threshold value, setting the prediction flag as FALSE, and repeating the above steps until the prediction flag is set as TRUE."
