MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105678 A) filed by Hcl Technologies Limited, New Delhi, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'method and system for identifying features from computer-aided design (cad) model images.'

The method (300) may include inputting (402), via a user interface, a plurality of marked-up images of a Computer-aided Design (CAD) model (222) and a feature identification prompt to a Large Multimodal Model (LMM) (216). For each marked-up image of plurality of marked up images, the method (300) may further include identifying (404), via LMM (216), preliminary features and associated unique IDs in marked-up image based on feature identification prompt, validating (408), via LMM (216), regions corresponding to one or more associated unique IDs based on an interactive analysis of CAD model (222) in a CAD APIs through a set of pre-configured agents, and generating, via LMM (216) or CAD APIs, validated features (228) of CAD model (222) and a corresponding set of parameters (226) of validated features (228), based on validating."
