MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441014141 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'method and system for handling domain name system requests associated with user equipment.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for handling one or more DNS requests in a first UE 601. The method includes determining a priority list of a plurality of DNS servers and CLAT information associated with the first UE 601 and arranging the plurality of DNS servers in the priority order. The method includes determining the DNS request timeout for each PDU session based on the URSP and the DNS resolution time of the primary DNS server of the plurality of DNS servers to access each PDU session. The method includes arranging, upon detecting the high-load on the primary DNS server at the first UE 601 in response to determining that the DNS resolution time is higher than the PDU session timeout threshold, the priority order associated with the plurality of DNS servers and re-directing the one or more DNS requests to at least one secondary DNS server of the plurality of DNS servers."
