MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517047029 A) filed by Robert Bosch Gmbh, Stuttgart, Germany, on May 15, for 'method and system for determining approvals for control unit functions in a control unit of a technical device.'
Inventor(s) include Hinz, Alexander; Keil, Reinhard; Schlottmann, Eckart; Hillner, Hans; Illig, Thomas; and Perrot, Kai.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a computer-implemented method for operating an approval manager for approving control unit functions (11) of different safety levels in a control unit (1) of a technical system, having the following steps: - carrying out (S2) diagnostic functions (12) in the control unit (1), wherein a safety level is assigned to each of the diagnostic functions (12); - depending on the detection of a fault event or a functionality by the relevant diagnostic function (12), adjusting (S4, S5) an associated status variable in a status variable memory area (13) assigned to the safety level of the diagnostic function (12); - carrying out (S7, S8, S9) a control unit function (11), which is assigned to a particular safety level, depending on one or more associated status variables, wherein only status variables which are stored in status variable memory areas (13) assigned to the safety level of the control unit function (11) or higher safety levels are taken into account."
