MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441032590 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on April 24, 2024, for 'method and system for avatar call communication between a sender device and a receiver device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Methods (1300) and systems (310) for avatar call communication between a sender device (350S) and a receiver device (350R). The system (310) comprises an initial stream module (410) configured for receiving an initial avatar stream from the sender device (350S) related to a caller in the call. Further the system (310) includes a caching module (420) configured for caching the received avatar stream on the receiver device (350R) and a data packet module (430) configured for receiving a data packet at the receiver device (350R). The data packet includes changes in captured morph targets data associated with real-time facial expression of the caller. Subsequently, an updating module (440) of the system 310 is configured for updating the received avatar stream based on the information in the received data packet and a rendering module (450) is configured for rendering the updated avatar stream on the receiver device (350R)."
