MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441068481 A) filed by L&T Technology Services Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Sept. 10, 2024, for 'method and system for artificial intelligence (ai)-assisted endoscope navigation.'
Inventor(s) include Chidharth Manickavasagan.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (300) and system (100) for artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted endoscope navigation is disclosed. The method (300) includes receiving (304) in real time video data corresponding to an internal body cavity of a patient from an endoscope. For each frame of the plurality of frames, the method (300) includes estimating (306) a depth value for each of the plurality of pixels using a deep learning model to obtain a depth map corresponding to the frame. For consecutive frames of the plurality of frames, upon obtaining the depth map, the method (300) includes generating (308), via a SLAM algorithm, a real-time 3D point cloud using the consecutive frames. The method (300) includes generating (322) a real-time 3D reconstructed model (224) based on the real-time 3D point cloud and the depth map. The method (300) includes rendering current positioning information of the endoscope based on the real-time 3D reconstructed model (224)."
