MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421008025 A) filed by Ladkat Rajendra Vithal, Pune, Maharashtra, on Feb. 6, 2024, for 'method and low-cost apparatus for testing rccb, elcb, and earthing in electrical systems.'
Inventor(s) include Ladkat Rajendra Vithal.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention presents a method and low cost apparatus(100) for testing electrical safety devices like Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCBs), Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCBs) and circuits within industrial, commercial, and residential electrical systems. The apparatus, designed to be plugged into 15 or 5 ampere sockets, consists of components Resistance (4,6),Neon lamp ( 5,8 ), Positive Temperature Coefficient or resettable fuse (9) connected to three input connections: phase(1), neutral (2), and earth (3). Multiple configurations of the apparatus facilitate comprehensive testing of Residual Current Circuit Breakers (RCCBs), Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers (ELCBs), earthing, and neutrals. The invention enables rapid and user-friendly testing methodologies applicable in diverse electrical environments. By interpreting neon lamp responses, it allows efficient identification of electrical faults or absence of essential safety components, ensuring enhanced safety and functionality in electrical systems."
