MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075797 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 8, for 'method and electronic device for acquiring spatial map.'
Inventor(s) include Lee, Yongseok; Kwak, Sejin; and Lee, Geunho.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a method for acquiring a spatial map by means of an electronic device. Disclosed is a method that includes: recognizing objects in a space from space scan information about the space; acquiring, from the space scan information, feature information related to an object that cannot be recognized through an object recognition model; identifying the object that cannot be recognized through the object recognition model, the object being recognized on the basis of a personalized database by using a query based on the acquired feature information; and generating a spatial map of the space on the basis of the space scan information and object information about the objects in the space."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/000721.
