MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517060319 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on June 24, for 'method and device for wi-fi aware communication.'

Inventor(s) include Choi, Junyoung; Kim, Junsung; Seo, Seungbeom; Oh, Hyunseob; Lee, Soonho; and Jung, Buseop.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method of a first electronic device for Wi-Fi Aware communication according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises operations of: transmitting a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) advertisement message including a neighbor awareness networking (NAN) synchronization frame format; transmitting a first service discovery frame (SDF) message to a second electronic device for service discovery between the first electronic device and the second electronic device; receiving a second SDF message corresponding to the first SDF message from the second electronic device; and establishing a NAN connection with the second electronic device."
