MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097043 A) filed by Trutzschler Group Se, Monchengladbach, Germany, on Oct. 8, for 'method and device for separating a sliver during can exchange on a drawing frame.'
Inventor(s) include Schmitz, Jorg; and Leinders, Christoph.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a method and to a drawing system for separating a single carded sliver (FB) during can exchange on a drawing frame (1), in which the sliver is produced in a carding machine (K) and runs continuously into the drawing system (1) which is arranged on the top side of the can changer (W) associated with the carding machine (K), wherein the sliver (FB) is guided vertically through a main drafting region of the drawing frame (1) to a hopper (14) and subsequently to a pair of pull-off rollers, which guide the sliver (FB) in a deposition tube (40) of a continuously rotating can plate (41) into a can, comprising the following steps: - reducing the rotation speed of the can plate (41) to a delivery speed of the sliver (FB) of 50 m/min to 300 m/min, - introducing compressed air into the hopper (14) for producing a suction effect on the sliver (FB), - producing a thin point in the sliver (FB) in the main drafting region of the drawing system, - forwarding the sliver (FB) with the thin point through the hopper (14) to which compressed air is applied and through the pull-off rollers into the (40) deposition tube of the can plate (41), - triggering the can exchange and thus separating the sliver (FB) as soon as the thin point of the sliver (FB) has reached the outlet of the rotating can plate (41), - introducing the sliver (FB) into the empty can and operating the carding machine with the drawing system and the can changer at production speed."
The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/057020.
