MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547067913 A) filed by Signify Holding B. V., Eindhoven, Netherlands, on July 16, for 'method and device for determining the location of a non-connected luminaire.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method and a system for determining the location of one or more luminaires (11-18) in a lighting system (100), the luminaires comprising at least one non-connected luminaire. The method comprises, by a central data processing device (1) obtaining first data (611) indicative of the type and serial number of the one or more luminaires (11-18) and obtaining second data (621) regarding a sale of a plurality of luminaires comprising the one or more luminaires (11-18), the second data (621) comprising location data indicating a location of sale or a ship-to address of the one or more luminaires (11-18), determining the location of the one or more luminaires (11-18) based on the first data (611) and second data (621) and registering the determined location in connection with a data entry for the one or more luminaires (11-18)."
