MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517049010 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on May 21, for 'method and device for controlling combustion in hot air furnace.'

Inventor(s) include Kudoh, Ichiro; and Kaise, Tatsuya.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This method for controlling combustion in a hot air furnace includes: a combustion process for storing, in a heat storage chamber, the amount of heat inputted by burning a mixed gas; and a blowing process for generating a hot airflow by feeding a cold airflow into the heat storage chamber and feeding the generated hot airflow into a blast furnace, the method for controlling combustion in a hot air furnace including a step for calculating the actual value of the amount of heat, calculating the amount of heat removed by generating the hot airflow, calculating the actual value of the thermal efficiency of the hot air furnace, calculating the amount of heat to be inputted when generating a hot airflow the next time, calculating the amount of the mixed gas to be fed when generating a hot airflow the next time, and controlling the hot air furnace on the basis of the calculated amount of the mixed gas."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 21, 2023, under International application No.PCT/JP2023/045856.
