Deshmukh; Mr. Vikrant Pradip Katekar; and Dr. Kishor B. Waghulde, Surat, Gujarat, on Aug. 27, 2025, for 'method and design of low-cost equipment for conducting shear tests on soft and hard material interfaces.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Vinit Gupta; Dr. Arun K. Singh; Dr. Yogesh G. Joshi; Dr. Rahul G. Deshmukh; Mr. Vikrant Pradip Katekar; and Dr. Kishor B. Waghulde.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the field of tribology and mechanical interface testing. More particularly, it pertains to a low-cost method and apparatus for conducting shear friction tests at interfaces between soft materials and hard materials. The invention is designed to perform slide-hold-slide type friction experiments and similar shear tests in order to study frictional properties - including static friction, dynamic friction, and stress relaxation - as well as interfacial fracture phenomena (such as crack propagation) at material interfaces."
