MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641051374 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on April 22, for 'method and composition for storage stability and viability of seeds.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method 100 for extending storage stability, viability, and vigour of seeds, the method 100 comprising conditioning seeds by reducing moisture content of the seeds to a predetermined range under controlled drying conditions, treating the conditioned seeds with a stabilization formulation comprising antioxidants, micronutrients, and natural antimicrobial agents, applying a coating layer over the treated seeds to restrict moisture ingress and retaining the stabilization formulation on a seed surface, subjecting the coated seeds to a dry-back step to restore the moisture content of the seeds to the predetermined range of following application of the stabilization formulation and the coating layer."
