MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341052409 A) filed by Amit Tandon, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 4, 2024, for 'method and composition comprising silkworm oil.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a system and method for extraction of silkworm oil. The method involves cold and hot extraction techniques for obtaining a silkworm oil composition. The silkworm oil composition majorly comprises of omega 3 fatty acid, omega 6 fatty acid, omega 7 fatty acid and omega 9 fatty acid. The disclosed embodiment can serve as chemical free silkworm oil for skin care, hair care, cardiac health and nutritional benefits."
