MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202041030270 A) filed by Jayashankar, Rajath, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on July 16, 2020, for 'method and apparatus for virtual footwear try-on.'

Specifically, In an embodiment, the method 100 comprises capturing at least one video frame of a foot of a user, separating an image of the foot from the captured at least one video frame by isolating a background image from the captured at least one video frame, creating an intermediary model of the foot from the separated image, wherein the intermediary model comprises of plurality of layers, determining a plurality of constraints using the intermediary model, rigging the intermediary model to capture movement of the foot in the image using the plurality of constraints, rendering the rigged model of the foot with a model of a footwear selected by the user; and displaying the rendered model on a display."
