MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441069137 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 12, 2024, for 'method and apparatus for power management in a user equipment (ue) facilitating plurality of sims.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure relates to a method of power management in a User Equipment (UE) (102) facilitating plurality of SIMs. The method comprises enabling one of plurality of SIMs of UE as a primary SIM when the UE (102) is in a location with no TN coverage. The primary SIM scans for availability of TN coverage. Further, the method comprises disabling, by the UE (102), one or more of the plurality of SIMs of the UE (102) while the primary SIM scans for TN coverage. The one or more of the plurality of SIMs are different from the primary SIM. Thereafter, the method comprises enabling, by the UE (102), the one or more of the plurality of SIMs of the UE (102) upon detecting the availability of TN coverage in response to scanning by the primary SIM, which facilitates power management in the UE (102)."
