MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517090938 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Sept. 23, for 'method and apparatus for multi-link device-based roaming in wireless lan system.'

Inventor(s) include Jang, Insun; Choi, Jinsoo; Baek, Sunhee; Kim, Geonhwan; and Yoon, Yelin.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method and apparatus for multi-link device (MLD)-based roaming in a wireless LAN system are disclosed. The method performed by a first STA in a wireless LAN system comprises the steps of: receiving, from a first access point (AP) belonging to a first group, announcement information including first information related to whether or not an addition of at least one link is supported for the first STA; transmitting, to the first AP, a request frame including a link ID of a second AP belonging to a second group; and receiving, from the first AP, a response frame including the link ID of the second AP, wherein the request frame may include second information requesting an addition or deletion of a link between the first STA and the second AP."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 29, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/002641.
