MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537098505 A) filed by Zuiko Corporation, Osaka, Japan, on Oct. 13, for 'method and apparatus for manufacturing absorbent sheet used for absorbent article.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a method and an apparatus for manufacturing an absorbent sheet used for an absorbent article, with which it is possible to reduce the manufacturing cost of an absorbent sheet in which absorbent materials are arranged in two layers. A first continuous sheet (2) is wound around a first conveyance roll (12a) and conveyed, a first absorbent material (3) is supplied to the first continuous sheet (2) being conveyed, and a second continuous sheet (4) is overlapped onto the first continuous sheet (2) so as to cover the first absorbent material (3) to form a first composite sheet (7). The first composite sheet (7) is wound around a second conveyance roll (14a) and conveyed, a second absorbent material (5) is supplied to the first composite sheet (7) being conveyed, and a third continuous sheet (6) is overlapped onto the first composite sheet (7) so as to cover the second absorbent material (5) to form a second composite sheet (8). The second composite sheet (8) is compressed in the thickness direction to form an absorbent sheet (9)."
