The method comprises processing (706) the estimated polyline representations to determine an actual vehicle position on the road. The method comprises determining (710) whether the actual vehicle position deviates from a buffered trajectory associated with the vehicle (104) and upon determining that the actual vehicle position deviates from the buffered trajectory, performing (712) the minimum risk maneuver for the vehicle (104)."
