MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517091048 A) filed by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunications Corp. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on Sept. 23, for 'method and apparatus for determining contention window, device, and storage medium.'

Inventor(s) include Ding, Yi; Zhao, Zhenshan; and Wu, Zuomin.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method and apparatus for determining a contention window, a device, and a storage medium, relating to the technical field of communications. The method comprises: if transmission of a terminal device includes NACK-Only-based transmission and/or blind retransmission, determining the latest contention window used for first transmission as a contention window used for the transmission of the terminal device (710). In sidelink communication, the latest contention window used for first transmission is determined as a contention window used for sidelink transmission of a terminal device, and the method for determining the contention window is designed for two transmission modes, i.e., NACK-Only-based transmission and blind retransmission, thereby preventing a plurality of terminal devices from using the same contention window during LBT, and reducing mutual interference between the terminal devices."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 29, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/084692.
