MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517071657 A) filed by Nec Corporation, Tokyo, on July 28, for 'method, user equipment and access network node.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method of a user equipment, UE, the method comprising: storing a first table that maps each of a plurality of first indices to a respective first range of an amount of uplink data, and a second table that maps each of a plurality of second indices to a respective second range of an amount of uplink data; determining, based on an amount of uplink data in one or more buffers of UE, whether to use the first table to determine a first index that indicates a first range of an amount of uplink data that is in the one or more buffers of UE, or to use the second table to determine a second index that indicates a second range of an amount of uplink data that is in the one or more buffers of UE; determining the first index or the second index based on the amount of uplink data that is in the one or more buffers of UE; transmitting an indication of the first index or the second index to an access network node; transmitting, to the access network node, if the UE transmits an indication of the first index to the access network node, an indication that the first table was used to generate the first index; and transmitting, to the access network node, if the UE transmits an indication of the second index to the access network node, an indication that the second table was used to generate the second index."
