MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414089713 A) filed by Robert Bosch Gmbh, Stuttgart, Germany, on Nov. 19, 2024, for 'method, computing unit and computer program for determining wear condition of at least one fuel injector.'
Inventor(s) include Schmid, Oliver.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present subject matter relates to a method for determining wear condition of at least one fuel injector (21-26) for an internal combustion engine, as well as a 5 computing unit (30) and a computer program for carrying out method. In method, a pressure gradient (300) in high-pressure fuel reservoir (27) is determined due to an injection of the at least one fuel injector (21-26), and if determined pressure gradient (300) falls below a predetermined threshold value (350), an undershoot counter (400) of at least one fuel injector (21-26) is incremented, and an undershoot 10 time (500) in which pressure gradient (300) remains below predetermined threshold value (350) due to the injection of the at least one fuel injector (21-26) is determined; and wear condition of the at least one fuel injector (21-26) is determined based on a value of the undershoot counter (400) and a value of the undershoot time (500)."
