MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611091065 A) filed by Panjab University on July 27, 2026, for "metallosurfactant-Integrated Deep Eutectic Solvent Compositions And Process For Preparation Thereof".

Inventors include Dr. Gurpreet Kaur; and Kanchan Kumari.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a phase-engineered composition comprising a deep eutectic solvent formed of a hydrogen bond acceptor and a hydrogen bond donor, integrated with a metallosurfactant comprising a redox-active metal center and a surfactant ligand. Systematic variation in the concentration of the metallosurfactant from 1 wt. % to 15 wt. % controls supramolecular self-assembly to yield distinct physical phases selected from a liquid crystalline phase, a eutectogel phase, a eutectoglass phase, and a solid micellar phase within a single compositional framework. The invention further provides a simple, cost-effective process for preparing the composition. The resulting compositions exhibit thermodynamic stability, intrinsic antimicrobial activity against pathogens such as Cutibacterium acnes, Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli, light-responsive singlet oxygen generation, and shear-thinning injectable properties, making them suitable for therapeutic, drug delivery, cosmetic, and wound-healing applications.
