MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541131963 A) filed by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College, Puducherry, India, on Dec. 26, 2025, for 'meta- material loaded mimo antenna for uwb x,and ku band application.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. P. Raja; Dr. N. Saranya; and S. Mohanram.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention relates to a Meta-Material Loaded MIMO Antenna for UWB X, and Ku band applications. It typically includes a Dielectric Substrate (1), a Copper Radiating Patches (2), a Meta-Material Unit Cells (3), a Microstrip Feed Lines (4), a Defected Ground Structure (DGS) (5), a Decoupling Structures (6), a SMA Connectors (7), a Vias and Shorting Pins (8), a Solder and Interconnects (9). and a Protective Coating (10), provides dynamic, real-time interference rejection and enhanced spectrum The Meta-Material Loaded MIMO Antenna achieves significant miniaturization, high isolation exceeding -20 dB, and enhanced gain across the combined UWB, X, and Ku bands by leveraging engineered sub-wavelength structures to suppress mutual coupling and optimize radiation efficiency. These antennas for UWB (3.1-10.6 GHz), X-band (8-12 GHz), and Ku-band (12-18 GHz) are primarily used in high-speed wireless communication, satellite-based data links, and high-resolution radar systems, where they provide enhanced bandwidth and reduced interference in compact devices."
