MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012313 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'mechansim for mapping a work environment of a plurality of robots.'

Inventor(s) include Pydi Bharath Kumar; and Gautam Sumit Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "[0095] A collaborative mapping system (100) to map a work environment of a plurality of robots. The collaborative mapping system (100) includes a first robot (102) to partition the work environment into a first region and a second region based on locations of the first robot (102) and a second robot (104) in the work environment, to generate a partial first map of the work environment based on a plurality of images of the first region, and to perform one or more primary tasks in the first region based on the partial first map. The collaborative mapping system further includes a second robot (104) to generate a partial second map of the work environment based on a plurality of images of the second region and to generate an integrated map of the work environment based on the partial first map and the partial second map of the environment."
