MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421039367 A) filed by Patil Shukrant Sharad; and Patil Krantika Sharad, Pune, Maharashtra, on May 20, 2024, for 'mechanism and method for operating a braille-dot of a braille-display of a braille-device.'

Inventor(s) include Patil Shukrant Sharad; and Patil Krantika Sharad.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Mechanism (100) and method for operating braille-dot (10) of braille-display (11) of braille-device (12) saves electric-energy than the prior arts by the ability of the system to be de-activated after being lifted. The mechanism (100) includes a magnet-inducing-unit (20), which is defined with a solenoid (21) and a ferrite-element (22), and an assembled-unit of a magnet (30) and a displacing-element (31). The magnet-inducing-unit (20) induces the magnet (30) and the displacing-element (31) to turn and the profiles (31a to 31c) causes the braille-dot (10) to be lifted. Once lifted, the magnet-inducing-unit (20) is deactivated while the braille-lot remains lifted and hence saves on electric-energy as the electric-energy is only required when there is lifting and lowering required."
