MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617020092 A) filed by Ficosa Automotive, S. L. U., Viladecavalls, Spain, on Feb. 20, for 'mechanical transmission actuator for a vehicle, and selector gear assembly for a mechanical transmission actuator and related methods.'
Inventor(s) include Gimeno Grane, Santiago; and Ferrer Ribas, Oscar.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present mechanical transmission actuator for a vehicle comprises a motor body configured to produce a generated torque using electric current applied thereto; a motor shaft moved by the generated torque, wherein the motor shaft defines a motor axis of rotation; a first gear assembly connected to the motor shaft, wherein the first gear assembly defines a first axis of rotation; and a second gear assembly connected to the first gear assembly, wherein the second gear assembly defines a second axis of rotation; wherein the motor axis of rotation is arranged substantially perpendicular to the first axis of rotation, and the second axis of rotation. The mechanical transmission actuator may further comprise a selector gear assembly connected to the second gear assembly. It may further comprise an electronics carrier arranged on a plane XY, wherein the first axis of rotation, the second axis of rotation and the selector axis of rotation may be arranged substantially perpendicular to the plane XY, and wherein the motor axis of rotation is arranged substantially parallel to the plane XY. The present mechanical transmission actuator may further comprise a holding means. Also, the electronics carrier comprises a first sensor, wherein the selector gear assembly further comprises a magnet connected to the first sensor such that, in use, an airgap is provided between the magnet and the first sensor; wherein the selector gear assembly comprises a recess configured to receive the holding means; wherein the intermediate support part comprises an opening so as to provide access to the recess; and wherein the holding means, in use, abuts a portion of the intermediate support part and the recess."
The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/054011.
