MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517050897 A) filed by Satake Corporation, Tokyo, on May 27, for 'measuring device and sorting machine.'

Inventor(s) include Ishizu Hideaki; and Miyamoto Tomoyuki.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This measuring device for measuring a geometrical or dimensional feature of all and/or part of a target object comprises: a conveying unit configured to convey the target object; an electromagnetic wave emitting source configured to emit electromagnetic waves at the target object that is being conveyed by the action of the conveying unit; a line sensor which includes a plurality of electromagnetic wave detecting elements arranged linearly in a first direction intersecting a conveying direction of the target object, and which is configured to detect at least one of reflected electromagnetic waves that have been emitted from the electromagnetic wave emitting source and have been reflected by the target object, and transmitted electromagnetic waves that have been transmitted through the target object; a conveying speed detecting unit configured to detect a conveying speed, in a predetermined direction, of the target object that is being conveyed; and a feature determining unit configured to determine the feature of the target object on the basis of an image acquired by the line sensor and the conveying speed in the predetermined direction."
