MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517092265 A) filed by Omron Healthcare Co. Ltd., Kyoto, Japan, on Sept. 25, for 'measuring device.'

Inventor(s) include Okazaki Tetsuzo; and Fukuda Yasunori.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a measuring device capable of pairing with an intended information terminal. A sphygmomanometer (10) includes: a communication portion (12) that performs communication using a communication method capable of pairing; a processor (11); and a housing (17) that houses the processor (11) and the communication portion (12), and an antenna (12A) of the communication portion (12) has directivity in a first direction larger than the directivity in a second direction other than the first direction and the largest, and on a side surface (17C) including an intersection point P with a virtual line extending from the antenna (12A) to the first direction in an outer surface of the housing (17), an information display portion (17E) capable of acquiring first information by imaging is provided, and the processor (11) starts processing necessary for the pairing, when a signal including information based on the first information is received, and reception intensity of the signal is equal to and larger than a threshold value."
