MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521125242 A) filed by Sushilkumar Nagnath Kamble, Pune, Maharashtra, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'mcfrd - multi-user controlled fall rescue device.'

Inventor(s) include Sushilkumar Nagnath Kamble; Dr. Pramodkumar Manikrao Bagade; and Nirmala Nagnath Kamble.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a Multi-User Controlled Fall Rescue Device (MCFRD) designed for safe evacuation from high-rise structures during emergencies such as fires or structural failures. The device comprises a metal wire rope (2) configured in a continuous loop, a rotatable brake drum (3), an internal ring gear, an epicyclic gear train with a sun gear shaft (4) and planetary gears (10), and a centrifugal braking mechanism including brake shoes (9), springs (5), and alignment rods (6). When a user descends, the wire rope rotates the drum, which drives the gear train and actuates the centrifugal brake to maintain a controlled descent speed between 0.8 m/s and 2.0 m/s. The bi-directional loop allows the opposite harness to return automatically to the top after each descent, enabling continuous multi-user operation without resetting. The device is fully mechanical, heat-resistant, and reliable during power outages, offering a robust solution for emergency evacuation."
