MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202537068181 A) filed by Beijing Roborock Innovation Technology Co. Ltd., Beijing, on July 17, for 'map data updating method, apparatus, and cleaning system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of smart home. Disclosed are a map data updating method, an apparatus, and a cleaning system. According to the map data updating method, map data change summary information can be determined on the basis of current map data information and cached map data information, and the map data change summary information can be sent; when receiving the map data change summary information, a mobile terminal can learn which map data of smart home devices has changed; the mobile terminal can send map data updating request information; and changed map data can be sent to the mobile terminal when the map data updating request information is received. The map data updating method reduces the sending amount of map data, can reduce the continuity requirement of map data updating for the network bandwidth and the transfer cache of a server, and can make the changed map data sent more targeted, thereby improving user experience."
