MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617012101 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on Feb. 4, for 'map coordination for channel resource announcement for peer-to-peer communication.'

Inventor(s) include Shafin, Rubayet; Ng, Boon Loong; Ratnam, Vishnu Vardhan; Nayak, Peshal; and Qi, Yue.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A first access point (AP) device in a wireless network, the first STA device comprising a memory and a processor coupled to the memory, the processor configured to transmit, to a second AP, a first frame that requests multi-AP coordination (MAP) for peer-to-peer (P2P) communication amongst a plurality of stations (STAs) and includes information to coordinate allocation of resources for the STAs to use for the P2P communication, receive, from the second AP, a second frame that responds to the first frame, and advertise information on allocation of resources for the P2P communication to one or more STAs associated with the first AP."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 30, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/013011.
