MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441016811 A) filed by Ordnance Factory Medak, Ordnance Factory Medak, Sangareddy, Telangana, on March 8, 2024, for 'manipulator for welding side plate assembly of mbt arjun mk 1a.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a manipulator (100) for welding side plate assembly of MBT Arjun MK 1A. Particularly, the invention provides a development of the side plate assembly to be welded in a proper way to obtain straightness and good quality of weld. The manipulator for welding side plate assembly (LH (35) & RH (36)) ARJUN MK 1A comprises panel (32), hex bolt (33), washer (34), assembly side plate RH (36), assembly of the side plate LH (35), steady rest assembly (37), frame assembly (38). A fitting fixture has to be made with suitable holding positioned. The manipulator is designed to accommodate the two components & a sub assembly. The locating pins are mounted on the manipulator frame assembly and the rigid clamping method is insured 360 degrees rotate done by pivoting the end sides of manipulator frame assembly."
