MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521062175 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Maharashtra, on June 30, 2025, for 'mandibular simulator.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mandibular simulator comprising: a frame (101) comprising a top plate and a bottom plate supported by columns; a mandible mounting assembly (103) configured to rigidly clamp condyles of a mandible (10) within the frame (101); a cable pulley arrangement (102) mounted to the frame (101), the cable pulley arrangement (102), wherein each cable (33) is connected at a first end to a respective cylindrical part (32) and is routed through corresponding holes and pulleys of the frame (101) such that a straight portion of the cable (33) between the cylindrical part (32) and the top plate approximates a line of action of a corresponding mastication muscle; and a teeth constraining arrangement for fixation relative to the mandible (10), allowing adjustment of a height along a z axis, and allowing movement in an X Y plane relative to the mandible (10) for selectively constraining different teeth of the mandible (10)."
