MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544089644 A) filed by Nokia Technologies Oy, Espoo, Finland, on Sept. 19, 2025, for 'management of user or packet data unit session markers.'

Inventor(s) include Ville Petteri Poyhonen; Janne Einari Tuononen; Georgios Gkellas; Bruno Landais; and Laurent Thiebaut.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method is provided that includes receiving a request from a network function (NF) service consumer to create, update or delete one or more markers. The one or more markers include marker information, and the marker information for each marker includes one or more filters identifying user plane traffic to be associated with the marker. The method includes authorizing the NF service consumer to create, update or delete the at least one marker. The method includes storing or deleting the marker information for the at least one marker in a unified data repository. And the method includes sending a response to the request to the NF service consumer."
