MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641043772 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on April 6, for 'magnetic field incorporated orthodontic bracket system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a magnetic field incorporated orthodontic bracket system (100) for delivering controlled orthodontic forces to one or more teeth comprises a plurality of bracket body (102), where each bracket body (102) configured to bind to a respective tooth surface, at least two archwire slot (104) formed within each of the plurality of bracket body (102) to hold an orthodontic archwire (106) to apply corrective forces, at least one miniature permanent magnet embedded within central body of each of the plurality of bracket body (102), behind first archwire slot (104a) to generate static magnetic field capable of interacting with a corresponding permanent magnet of an adjacent bracket body (102), and at least one flux-guiding element positioned within central body of each of the plurality of bracket body (102), behind the second archwire slot (104b) for enabling localized delivery of continuous orthodontic force in combination with forces generated by archwire(106)."
