Inventor(s) include David Prem Jose Godwin; Kumar V; Muruganandam Radhakrishnan; and Praveen Chakrapani Rao.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a hub motor assembly (100) featuring a rim (102) for tire support and a flat ring structure (104) securing the motor's side covers. The assembly includes a pair of L-shaped magnet holders or circlips (106) installed in slots/grooves (112) on the flat ring (104). These holders positioned opposite each other securely retain the magnets (108). The holders feature an L-shape profile with a cut section/ working gap (110), enabling expansion and contraction, facilitating easy removal and reinstallation of the magnets for maintenance without damage. The working gap (110) permits the holders to be fixed on the slots (112) of flat ring (104) without adhesive. Compressing the holder (106) releases the magnet, and decompressing, the holder springs back to its original position, securing the magnet without requiring additional bonding agents such as adhesives or welding."
