MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611051110 A) filed by Vartika Panchal; Parth; Tejas; Jiya; Ritu Vats; Geeta Dahiya; and Indu Arora, Kurukshetra, Haryana, on April 22, for 'lung cancer detection using cnn, fusion and yolo techniques in matlab.'
Inventor(s) include Vartika Panchal; Parth; Tejas; Jiya; Ritu Vats; Geeta Dahiya; and Indu Arora.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method for lung cancer detection using fusion and YOLO techniques in MATLAB is disclosed. The method utilizes both Lung CT image and Lung PET image of the same patient, which are combined using a fusion technique to generate a single fused image. The fused image is processed using a convolutional neural network (CNN) to classify the image as Normal or Abnormal. Upon classification as abnormal, YOLO V2 is employed to detect the tumor and generate a boundary box around the detected region. The proposed approach leverages deep learning techniques to improve accuracy and speed in lung cancer detection and enables early diagnosis through effective image processing and analysis."
